Staging Clyde Hill
/We had to work in the homeowners 2 chairs and found that they were vintage Nancy Corzine. Very cool.
This vanity is one of my favorite pieces from the Seattle Design Center.
This fabulous home is listed byKathy Woodman at Coldwell Banker Bain.
The gardens on the property are outstanding. Just approaching the front door you are surrounded with scents, there is a small vegie garden by the garage, a scented garden off the guest room, a children's garden, pond, a small hidden hammock, fruit trees and so many more treasures.
The September Issue-Fashion Film
/
I recently rented The September Issue which just blew me away. It's about Vogue's talented leader Anna Wintour putting out the largest issue of the year-September. I remember we could not wait for that big fat magazine to appear on the news stands. This movie follows that journey and she is brilliant!
Anna Wintour
My favorite person in the movie was Stylist Grace Coddington. She and Anna have worked together for 20+ years. Grace is mind blowing creative. A genius indeed. She kind of steals the movie for me.
Look what I just purchased....
/
This is my first etsy purchase! My tree will be ever-so-stylish this year.
I found them at: A Flea Circus. Below is a sign that she also has for sale. I know my sister Sue would appreciate it. We are good partners when it comes to splunking.
I was actually going for this phone to use in staging but the price was just too high.

Poetry
/
I have forever wanted to be able to read and enjoy poetry but I am just not good at it. In the interest of perseverence I checked our Leavings by Wendell Berry. I loved his poems-they are profound and beautiful. Some didn't hit me but many did. He writes a beautiful one about his life with his wife...sigh.
Relax....
/
Can you think of anything better than some quiet moments in a hammock? It momentarily takes you away and lets your mind be free. I have been known to take my hammock on vacation. Perfect for napping out of doors and staring up at the sky. Try it...and relax.

Reading

Mother handed me this book kind of playing it down. I am a bit embarrassed to say that I loved it. I caught myself laughing out loud (just a couple of times). People often refer to it as a summer read and there is also a movie coming out...
Synopsis:
Fredericka Mercedes Hildebrand Ware ("Frede" to her friends) is a 28-year-old woman, who lives in an exclusive community of the rich and famous in Willow Creek, Texas. In a society (called the Junior League), appearances are everything, and rumors, as well as uncouth behavior are not allowed. Unfortunately, Frede's life takes a drastic turn when her lawyer husband, Gordon, runs off with another woman with all of Frede's money, leaving the young socialite in a mess that all but sees her going to the poor house. In a desperate move to regain her status, she employs the help of an 'unacceptable/flashy' lawyer by the name of Howard Grout (who does have a great record of accomplishment for winning cases). Unfortunately, for Frede, Howard's terms involve Frede getting his unconventional (and definitely not League material) wife into the exclusive society. Frede will have to do all she can to see that Nikki Grout gets in, although trouble and romance with the dashing Sawyer (an artist with a secret of his own) eventually come in the way.

Ballard Designs
/Atlanta based Interior Designer Suzanne Kasler has created some fabulous pieces for Ballard Designs. I could not get through my catalog fast enough on the first run through. It's kind of like when Stella McCartney did a line for H&M a few years back. We were dying to get our hands on some killer pieces from their San Francisco stores and yes we waited in several lines to do just that. Now I cannot wait to pick a few items from this new collection. Here is a peek:
Another Great Book
/
Just finished Farm City The Education of an Urban Farmer by Novella Carpenter and it is a fabulous read. The book is divided into 3 sections: Turkey, Rabbit and Pig which gives the reader an idea of what is about to unfold.
You can check our Novella's Ghost Town Farm blog here.
The Perfect Set Up

I love to walk in someone's home and see a killer bar all set up in style and lookin' ready-to-serve.

I have this page torn out of an old Domino issue. It's in his wonderful low-key summer home. How inviting! It's also one of our favorite things to do when staging. (Not drinking but creating a bar).
